Nanotechnology is known by most people from science fiction films, because it's often used in these kinds of stories. Now, why is nanotechnology so appealing to writers? For one thing, nanotechnology is still largely considered as science fiction in real life. It's amazing what you can do with particles that are just one millionth of a millimeter. Maybe nanomolecules in your deodorant aren't that spectacular but nanorobots detecting cancercells in your body and destroying them, that would be awesome. Scientists from all over the world are working on these kinds of projects and maybe in a few years this fiction will become reality!
